| Friendship With Jesus: Pope Benedict XVI Speaks to Children on their First Holy Communion. This little book was based on a meeting that the Holy Father had with the children of Rome who had recently received the sacrament. I was struck by the way in which the Pope answered the questions that all children have. He articulated profound ideas, but on a level a that a young child could understand, and as in the case of all his teachings, points them toward the joy and peace we find in friendship with Jesus, our Lord. Amy Welborn, the well-known author and blogger, introduces Pope Benedict’s beautiful dialogue with children and I have provided the watercolor illustrations. We hope that the Holy Father’s wisdom will help children and their families grow in love as they begin their extraordinary adventure of faith. |
